I've always wanted to do a story with Al Leong as the main character! According to Alleong.com "If Al Leong was a Star Wars character he would be Boba Fett – as he is the coolest looking character who everyone remembers even though he almost never says anything." Awesome!

Introducing... The Fabulous Adventures of J W Pepper

Some old stuff i just digged up from my hard disk, 100% digital with a Wacom... I quite enjoyed working on these, but I prefer to work on paper, no undos!! If i work like this for too long my drawing ends up stiffer than a Frenchman at a leotard convention.

Sketches for 'The Island of Doctor Moreau' a book im currently working hard on. I did some work on it last year but had to give it up for several reasons, so im really pleased to finally resurrect it :o) The whole graphic narrative will be silent, meaning there will be no text apart from individual pages that separate story into segments.

Disaster!!!

After working fairly hard on a competition piece (see last post), I got half way through painting it and managed to spill a whole pot of water over it!!! ouch... So it looks like i wont be able to enter it in time; shame, i might finish it at a later date when im less busy well see :o)

Concepts for the 'fitzbot'. Ive changed my idea for the cover of 'The Last Days of Lacuna Cabal" as i felt the original was a little too somber, after re-reading the text i really liked the idea of the 'fitzbot', a little 6 legged robot that follows the characters around.

Rainy day

Observational... realy feel like im hitting my stride with my new brushpen, im starting to enjoy not having to ink over a pencil sketch, it all feels much looser! Just after i finished this though i noticed that the hand is too far up the leg it should be a bit further down i think, oh well :0)

Ditch the pencil!!!!

Ive kind of had a little hiatus from drawing since Christmas (not the best time to start an art blog really :) ) whilst deciding what i want to persue career-wise. In the week however i seem to have a renewed enthusiasm for things and have been drawing like a mad ferral Rolf Harris!

On another note ive decided to ditch pencils for the time being, mainly because i feel im getting way too stiff with my approach to art! We'll see what happens...

Currently working on an entry for this competition . My initial idea features two of the main characters from the excerpts, one of them in a hospital bed while the other writes in his notebook. I just had this image in my head and had to get it on paper i guess.

Some more sketches, also featuring the one and only 'Super Naked Elvis', definately an idea for a short story in the near future, watch this space :o)

Hello, first post in my first blog :-O!!

Anyway, i've been doing alot of random sketching recently searching for ideas to bulk out my portfolio, for some reason i started to sketch clowns whilst listening to System of a Down, "Lost in Hollywood". Final piece was pencil, coloured pencil and a bit of photoshop collagery on sugar paper :o)
